Threadworms

Hi all. My 3 year old has been itching at him bum for the past 24 hours and I've seen a small white worm around his bum tonight. Clearly Threadworm, so went to local pharmacy and got a treatment. A 1 dose treatment liquid.

Just wondered if anyone knew how long it normally takes to clear up? He's got some piriton to help the itching, but wouldn't mind knowing just how long it takes to kill the little buggars!

Expect to see some improvement after 3 to 5 days. If it hasn't resolved at two weeks, go back for a second dose. I take it you were given Mebendazole? Ensure strict hand hygiene throughout with warm soapy water and hot wash the PJ's and bed sheets to help reduce the risk of reinfection.
