I just contacyed my local uni as I couldnt be bothered with a trip to london. I believe ypu are spoilt for choice up there mind. Personally i would use a uni over a commercial service as you get a good chat with the sports science people and the chap performed one or two tests on me for free/science. Was some 'lovely' students to look at too!

We've got a bodpod at work. Had DEXA at my last place. I'm a skinny cyclist (7.2% BF at 71kg, BMI 19.9). It told me that I had a fat arse (12% bf there), and that those impedence machines are useless.
If you can get on a trial, you can get it for free. If I had to pay, I'd struggle to justify more than £20, let alone the money a DEXA scan costs. The data just isn't that interesting. Got more interesting data out of wearing a Actiheart monitor - seeing how sedentary I am was scary.

Such as this at Addenbrookes:http://cuh.org.uk/addenbrookes/news/2011/march/vol...
These things seem to be thin on the ground though.
Cheers,
