So I'm getting old (65) and not surprised I am now getting pain in my finger joints.

Is there any merit in taking things like Glucosamine & Chondroitin or are they just 'Snake Oil'.

Other options?

Cheers

Worthwhile looking at your diet - cut out vinegar and stuff with vinegar in it eg tomato sauce, salad dressings, pickled stuff. I love pickled stuff and my hips and jaws start to ache whenever I buy a bottle of pickled beetroot or gherkins (after eating it, obviously). silly

I get it in my fingers, hips and knees but it affects everyone differently so I'd advise you seek medical advice rather than over the counter solutions. As you're 65 any prescriptions will be f.o.c.

Thought that would be the case.

Is there anything I should take or is a visit to my GP on the cards first?

Many thanks
Steve

Yon could do a lot worse than a couple of weeks of regular, over the counter, 45p a box, paracetamol and ibuprofen

Avoid the thing that makes your hands hurt and go and see your GP
