Liquid Grip vs MyProtein Liquid Chalk
Discussion
Has anyone tried both?
My bottle of Liquid Grip is coming to an end after over a year of excellent service and I'm looking to replace it. Whilst looking around, I noticed 250ml of MyProtein Liquid Chalk is around £10 [£7 plus P&P) whereas Liquid Grip 250ml is around £25. I'm happy to pay for the Liquid Grip as it really is fantastic, but seems like a waste of £15 if the MP version is equally good. If anyone has any input I would appreciate it.

Thanks! Does it stay on the whole session? How long does the bottle last?
The Liquid Grip just needs a tiny amount and for my 45 min sessions (Wendler 5/3/1) lasts the whole time.
Erm i normally reapply a fresh layer every other lift when going heavy but the chalk does stay on the whole time I use it, probably hour - hour and half. The Liquid Grip just needs a tiny amount and for my 45 min sessions (Wendler 5/3/1) lasts the whole time.
I've had the bottle probably a year now. I guess it depends how much you use but I put a fair amount on and hand it out to friends all the time
I too use the Myprotein stuff, I think it's great value for money and seems to last well. It's cheap enough that I don't worry about splashing on more if needed either.
Seems the liquid Grip stuff is pretty much the same but contains Rosin. I found a quick review here, albeit from a climbers point of view

Ive tried the liquid grip one for gym work - i must have had a dodgy pot as i didnt get any stickiness, found it dried my hands out something chronic and didnt last all that long.
Prior to that i had some Physio Sport liquid chalk which was excellent in comparison and was sticky, hands didnt dry out and lasted.
Now use a chalk ball in a sandwich bag (to keep the excess chalk in).

I've used a few types (for climbing) and generally noticed little difference between them in effects. Some are thicker than others as they come out of the bottle depending on composition, but they're pretty much all an alcohol base with chalk suspended in it.
Not tried liquigrip, but £25 a bottle is expensive, I'll stick with a much cheaper brand and just use more - even at 2-3x usage it's still cheaper.
Also if you want a cheaper way to get it if there's a climbing wall or shop that sells climbing gear near you that'll almost certainly be cheaper than mail order unless you're adding it on to an existing order - £6-7 in my local walls. There used to be one that sold it for £3 a bottle, but they ran out of the cheap stuff.

Sorry everyone - I thought you I had actually replied to these! Re: the rower, I think it would make a difference as it basically just stops your hands getting sweaty.
So I just thought I would give an update - I bought some MP Liquid Chalk and have had it for around a month. It's okay - but Liquid Grip is much better in my opinion. MP Liquid Chalk comes off more easily (I have to reapply multiple times per workout, whereas Liquid Grip was pretty much once, maybe twice on deadlift day). The Liquid Chalk also dries more like real chalk, whereas the LiquidGrip puts what I would describe as a less dusty, more grippy 'coating' on your hands. Liquid Grip, I think, is also just grippier (from what I remember) than the Liquid Chalk.
Overall, the Liquid Chalk does the job just fine, but depending on how long it lasts I may switch back to LiquidGrip when I come to buy a new bottle.
