Having just come through 6 months of chemo and a fairly major operation to remove the cancer from my bowel i want to put some money back into the hospital as a thank you from me, my family and my friends. A good chunk of this money i plan to raise by raffling a watch via PH and the Royal Marines.

Ive looked on JustGiving (used them in 2008 when i raised some money for H4H) but because the units i want to give money to don't have charity numbers it doesnt seem possible to set up a system where people can donate to the pot. Aside from people just firing £5 a time into my bank account is there any other way to set up a system that people can effectively buy raffle tickets from.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Does the hospital have a charity number? Could you ask them if you could use that, but have the money go to specific department or wards?

I don't know how justgiving works. Does it sit in their account until you press a button to make it donate to the charity of your choice?

I'd rather not allocate it to a central hospital fund as its difficult and awkward to track. The wards do have amenities funds that I can put the money into but no specific charity numbers. Going to do some research this afternoon.

Yes I can see why you wouldn't want it to go into the central pot. - though I actually meant simply to circumnavigate the just giving rules.

A friend of my OH is quite involved in the cots for tots fundraising, I'll ask how they deal with it.

they are cost centres not actual funds.

It's against the forum rules; you have to ask permission and generally the answer is no.

I put one up yesterday and unfortunately it was removed pretty sharpish. PH apologised given the nature of the link but rules are rules. Saying that it's been a very busy night on Facebook and over half the tickets are gone.
