Internal bleeding, (skull)

Any one had any dealings with this?
I fell over sat night and hit my head, whilst working in Belfast. Now not allowed to go home till it stops, which is abit of a worry.

I have not had any dealings of this, but if it is under the skin, well there is a bit of worry that, basically if its too bad, it might burst and get blood everywhere, and then you will feel a lot of release after it does, but after that you will still be bleeding, so you should be around a doctor or someone who will be able to sort it.


if its in the brain, well, I hope it is not, as that can cause lots of problems, and i would, if it was me, I would like to be in a hospital till its stopped, as that is quite bad and will cause quite a lot of pressure inside the skull, and mess you up.


go to hospital and tell them what has been said to you and to check you out, i might even make a few things up like getting headaches all the time, and perhaps vision going a bit funny so they do a scan and actually check you over, as (now I don't know what the state of hospitals are like where you are, but down here, they are st, and actually let my niece throw up and pass out in the A&E waiting room (and she is 11) as she could not breath properly, and only gave her a drink when she came round and basically did nothing apart from give her an inhaler and sent her home)

OP, have you seen a Dr and if you have, what have they said?

Yes seen a doctor, a neuro surgeon.
They have kept me in so they can keep an eye on the bleeding around 1 if my ears and inside the skull.
Headaches come and go in both areas.
Due another ct scan at 10am, so hope to have a better idea today what's happening.

well after 5 full days in the hospital, they finally said i was ok to travel home, although not by plane.
so an interesting 16 hour journey from Belfast to Essex by road and ferry.

the injury in the end was listed as, "extradural haematoma" so had lots of scans, blood tests, and regular checks every 3 hours during the night time, before it reached a level that they were happy to let me travel home.

i've seen my gp now, and have to wait approx 2-3 weeks until i have another ct scan, to see how things have progressed, and hopefully get the all clear.
i now have to contact dvla to inform them of the situation, which i'm dreading as i think i know what will happen with the dvla.
my licence is my job.

Good to hear you're on the mend!! I guess you just need to wait and see what DVLA say. Do you notify them by post?

well i just spoke with dvla on the phone.
explained everything that has happened thus far, including reading them the medical report given to me by the surgeons in belfast. the dvla said, that at the moment if my gp gives me the go ahead to drive, then thats fine. i was abit surprised to be honest. but as it stands, i have no plans to drive at the mo, until i've had this next scan and hopefully get the all clear.
