Ear issue

Since the last bank holiday ,my left ear has been feeling like im permanently wearing an earplug I can hear but it's very muffled.

Went to first doctor two weeks ago and was given antibiotic ear drops. These made no difference at all.

Second doctor gave oral antibiotics and I'm nearly finished with them and still can't bloody hear properly.

I've tried Otex,Earex,a scoop thing, syringing them and nothing makes a difference.

It's driving me mad.

Can't get into doctor three till after bank hols.

Nope.

Was back at the Dr on Tuesday, he said there was debris in the ear and I was booked for Thursday for an ear irrigation.

Thursday, the Nurses told me my problem ear was absolutely clear and no point in doing the irrigation.

Im now due to make my FOURTH appt and no further forward.

To say Im pissed off is an understatement.

Im guessing Im now going to be bounced around the NHS being allocated 30 seconds to see a specialist and getting nowhere....

Have you tried taking decongestants? Even if you are not filling stuffed up? If there is nothing external, then maybe your eustachian tube is blocked not allowing the pressure to equalise?

To follow on - having read the link you posted, I tried to blow my own brains out. Id tried this before, but not as hard as this occasion.

I felt the pressure build and then release-which was a huge releief.

Later this evening , I did it again, and I think I may be almost back to normal.

I did also, take a huge nort of anto congestant, but eikther, things are better than they were.
