As some of you know, or may have seen over the years, I have terrible dyslexia. I really do try my best and work hard to fight it, but it's still there.

You wouldn't believe the work that goes into posting a 5 line post, about half an hour of due diligence (and spell check)of work, when you lot just post kack that runs on for yards, I'm bleedin' jealous.

Now the real nub of the question is this:-

Why do I keep using the same sodding word in a sentence twice, erm...twice? I've found myself doing this more and more. I know structural creation and dynamics of language, but where the fk does this come from???

BTW, not sure if this should be in Health or Books? (Mods call).

My son's fiance has dyslexia. She recently started at university and has been given, by a charity, a laptop with special software that will help her write her uni work.

I don't know the charity or the software but if you want I could find out.

It's a very obscure Spike Milligan thing that he had. He fought it with music.

I clicked on the thread thinking the same thing. As far a why you repeat the same word twice, I don't know exactly what causes it but I do know Dyslexia is a developmental reading disorder, we went over it in psychology last year, I've the book laying around here somewhere so I'll take a look at it.
I've dyslexia myself though I don't repeat words but what I find very interesting about it is that it seems to effect everyone differently, there doesn't seem to be a set number of symptoms.
