Somehow I managed to volunteer to help with a pupil and staff running club at school, despite not having done any serious running since 2009!

So I need to start over, while all the paperwork goes through!!!

Don't think I can delay anymore, so out I go! Wish me luck...

Well, that was appalling!

Jog, walk, jog, walk, gag, held it back...

Maybe try the couch to 5 k as a way of getting yourself back to running?

He just described C25K though! wink

OP, surely as the 'coach' you don't actually need to do any running, just shout a lot at the kids/teachers to run faster? shoutrofl

Don't overdo-it. I discovered that you're never too old to get shin splints!

Are you coaching or group leading or both?

Coaches don't need to be runners - an old coach of mine was not a runner but was a great coach (he had coached 40+ athletes to international competition selection).

Group leaders however need to be comfortable at the pace of the group.

Thanks for support

Is going to be more difficult now compared to '08.

Job is very different, I used to be able to plan exercise and recovery. But I had football training this afternoon, got a bootcamp tomorrow. Wednesday is a hike!

None of this is too extreme, but I am getting on!
