Another ACL question...
Discussion
Had an ACL reconstruction a few years ago (patellar tendon version) The surgeon mentioned that the lower screw placement might cause me a problem in later life, and might need to be removed. I think later life has arrived, as it's now started to give me constant irritation - I can't touch or kneel on the site without a jolt of pain and discomfort.
Has anyone else had ACL reconstruction and then subsequently had the screw removed? Experiences welcome!

Needs a diagnosis making in person, why is it suddenly giving you problems?
--> your local knee surgeon
No idea why it's suddenly started- appointment made with GP which will hopefully give me an answer or referral to RPH. I know it the past if I've banged said knee it hurts like hell short term with dull ache for a few days, but I can't remember banging it recently. Not done any sport that has caused me any problems either, so it's a bit of mystery.Needs a diagnosis making in person, why is it suddenly giving you problems?

I know each case is different, but is removal really possible as a local procedure (I've done the usual "research" and seen a few removals on youtube done in docs office...)
Gatecrashing the thread so apologies!
In a nut shell foot planted (football boots) weight all on knee. Felt a pop to knee on outside, swelling, pain, discomfort. More likely to be lateral ligament or cartilage? Got Appointment with GP on Tuesday. I'm so annoyed with myself but it can't be helped.

Sorry, Ruskie. I don't diagnose on the internet. Get seen by a knee specialist in the next 10 days, particularly with "felt a pop"In a nut shell foot planted (football boots) weight all on knee.
