Does any one suffer from waking up feeling dehydrated? I almost always feel like it when I wake up, regardless of what fluids I've drank the previous day. Really dry mouth, fuzzy head, irritable bad mood.

Anyone found a remedy? I've tried drinking a pint or so of water before bed but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I should add that I think I run quite a high body temp anyway, as I'm bad in hot weather.

I do, all I've done is drink a fair bit prior to bed and taken a water bottle with me. When I wake up 3 in morning normally to pee I'll have a drink again. Or if I wake up first of thirst I'll have the drink which I brought up smile

I just leave a cup of water on the bedside table. Can sip it if I wake in the middle of the night and finish it first thing before getting up.

Yes, and it's always 10x worse if I'd had something like a takeaway or a pre packed meal the night before. Must be far too much MSG/salt in those things wink

As above, keep a glass of water by the bed so at least if you wake up you can have a sip.

Yeah, the salt in restaurant/takeaway food will dehydrate. Plus the MSG tends to make me sleep like this: eek

For me hydration is an all day thing - if I don't stay at a constant level it hits me the next day.

I have a 1.5 litre of water on my desk all day, and the same at home - it's far easier to be able to take a sip often rather than have to keep filling up a smaller glass.

That reminds me - yes, I agree, rather than just downing a pint before bedtime (you'll piss most of it out at 4am), keeping hydrated throughout the day will mean you're less likely to just have it pass through you.

I drink maybe half a pint of water before bed and usually around a pint during the night. I wake up quite a bit so always have a glass to hand.

Probably get up to have a wee once/twice a night (around 02:00 and then 06:00) as I find it impossible to sleep with anything in my bladder.

Same here I think I sleep with my mouth open! Not so dehydrated wee isn't too dark but a dry mouth 10 times worse after a Chinese and a few ales.
