So, I'm a recent convert to FitBit having picked up a Flex, just wondered whether any other PHers are using FitBits? I certainly know of one..

Check in, say hi, I've just created a PH FitBit group, so feel free to join that..

I bought one. enjoyed it for a couple of months but I felt it's a bit of a pointless gimmick. I know whether I have done enough. One day I could do 25000 steps and use that as an excuse that I had done enough, next day I could do 15000 and be knackered due to gym work.
I prefer to stick to a set routine. timed runs and strength levels.

Don't think the fitbit flex does heart rate. Also doesn't count stairs which some other models do. I was browsing these yesterday, completely a gimmick, but I'm just interested to see how far I walk during a day at work, I want one that does stairs too, which I think one of the other fitbit models does, but it's not a wristband like the flex and I'll lose something that goes in the pocket.

The force does this, but is currently off the market, I understand they're working to bring it back to market.

Is it gimmick? Perhaps, but it's making me be more active, so that's not a bad thing is it?

I'm a fan of this type of kit. Anything that encourages exercise can't be bad.

I bought my wife a Nike fuel band last year which she wears for running etc. It also doubles up as a watch smile

I've got the Polar Loop, as it was the only one in May that accurately did swimming

I used to have a Nike Fuel Band, but prefer my FitBit. I really like it, it may not be 100% accurate but what it does do is motivate me to move!!

My wife bought me one for my 60th Birthday, almost a month ago.

It's the Flex and I use it to measure my daily walks.

Ten minutes ago, I got a notification that I've done 250 miles in just under a month!

I just use it for steps / miles and can't be arsed to work out the other bits.

So far, pretty impressed but not sure how accurate they are.

I looked into a fitbit device and the competitors but ended up going with a dedicated HRM as I wanted an accurate measure of how many calories I burn at the gym. The fitbit app on their iPhone 5S tracks steps without needing to run in the background. A few of my mates use it and rate it.

How are people getting on with these?

I've been using My Fitness Pal to monitor calories recently and have read that I can integrate this into MFP. But I like the idea of tracking walking and sleeping.

Now at just over 500 miles since June.

Mine kept asking for a new battery, which I changed and it then asked for yet another.

Took it up with Fitbit, who immediately sent out a replacement saying that they could tell that it was faulty.

Still pretty impressed.

How do you find the sleep monitoring?

How exactly does it work, does it auto sync with your phone or do you have to manually do it?
