Tummy bug Cleudo
Discussion
I've just spent a thoroughly enjoyable night "having an upset stomach", which is much detail as anyone needs. I started feeling ill very suddenly at about 1700 yesterday.
The thing is, I've put my body through a fair bit in the last few days (walking and camping trip) so there's not one obvious candidate for the cause. I was lying in bed last night playing a version of Cleudo in my head trying to work out which is most likely:
Wed PM: drank 2 pints of really not very well served Cider then slept in a wood
Thursday: walked all day in very hot weather, probably got a bit dehydrated
Thursday ~ 5pm: due to extreme thirst filled my water bottle in a river and drank that
Yesterday lunchtime: 2 more pints of cider in pub not known for its hygiene standards
Now it seems to me the most likely candidate was river water on the Wednesday, but I felt fine for 24 hours thereafter. As in my experience tummy bugs take effect very quickly, does this point the finger at Friday's cider? Or can a tummy bug take 24 hours to kick in?
I feel more or less fine now so at least it didn't last long.
