Blood trace in pee
Discussion
Anyone else had an issue with this?
Had a medical at work today and the pee test resulted in the detection of a blood trace. I'm 35, don't smoke, bit overweight but feel absolutely fine. Over the last few days I have been waking up about 4am for a pee, which is unusual for me. Apart from that, I don't have any other known symptoms. I can't see any blood either.
It's obviously quite scary to find this. Has anyone else been through the process? Thanks all.

Blood can appear for many reasons. A second test can quite often show nothing...
Yep - that happened to me. Very slight trace was picked up on health insurance medical. Quack seemed unconcerned and said some insurers don't even want to know about trace levels (although ours did).I went to my own surgery and they said no trace.

I haven't had any visible blood, the trace was picked up by a test strip yesterday. If I didn't have that test, I would be none the wiser. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing.
Hoping it isn't anything too bad.
Thanks for the comments all.

One of my mates had visible blood in his urine just once and it turned out to be bladder cancer, he is alive and well cancer free 15 years later.
A guy who worked with me had the same symptoms plus pain and it turned out to be a simple infection, cleared up in days with antibiotics.
Glad to hear your friend is ok.A guy who worked with me had the same symptoms plus pain and it turned out to be a simple infection, cleared up in days with antibiotics.
I haven't had anything visible, yet. Apparently, visible signs more of an indication of a serious problem than a trace.
