My Facebook feed is inundated with these at the moment.

Loads of women singing its praises and working for them as distributors.

Can't help but think its just another pyramid scheme. There was another nutrition / suppliment company not long ago which was the flavour of the month - same idea - the concept that people are starting their own business (encourages the seller - gives sense of achievement and empowerment), I imagine that they pay some money for this privilege. Then they make a bit of money selling products. Then they try to recruit sellers below them and make a fraction of their profits.

That aside, has anyone any experience of these current 'cleanses'? It has got me intrigued. I'd never ever lay the money for these (over £100) but I'd do a DIY version.

From what I can see, it's a few suppliments, eat nowt for two days and then mainly shakes.

What I want to know is - what can you eat? What are the shakes? How many calories a day?

Most people reporting up to around a stone weight loss. And that this is apparently more sustainable than a fad diet (don't know how this can be true - 1 st in 9 days?!?)

Main appeal to me is everyone saying how good it has made them feel. I'd like that. Also, even with a healthy diet I hate how sugar and calories is hidden everywhere so I would like to really clean my diet up, and this seems like a good start.

It'll make them feel good about themselves - unlikely they feel particularly fit or healthy unless they were -unhealthy- beforehand. Then again, most people don't seem to know what feeling healthy is actually like, so I wouldn't be surprised to hear of an 'improvement'.

1 stone weight loss in a week will be almost all water weight, which will drop straight back on once drinking healthy levels of water and eating again. There is no shortcut to weight loss, and anyone who is trying to tell you there is wants your money, or is desperate to avoid feeling scammed.

Eat less, move more.

So people trying to sell something say it made them feel really good? That's a surprise.

I'm as doubtful as the next man about the selling strategies and the actual weight loss.

However, it is known that types of fasting etc can make you feel like you have more energy. Also a change for body to recover if you are taking in unknown allergens and excess ing processed foods / chemicals etc.

Also people saying they feel great aren't just the sellers, it's all the users. I know there will be a good dose of placebo effect etc

The new diet crazy right there! Of course it's not going to make anyone a fortune as it's too simple but you know what it might just work! wink

losing weight and being healthy shouldnt cost you more than putting on weight and being unfit.

Cleansing/detoxing is your livers job. It works 24 x 7 x 365 and it gets the day off when you die. You cannot eat or drink anything that will help. All you can do is stop ingesting cack like

o alcohol
o sugar
o those shakes, in all probability.

I did think about those shakes. Whilst I drink them a bit anyway, I don't see how a scheme which is built around detoxing and 'cleansing' can have u supping a load of processed shakes!
