Long Haul Flight - Minor Operation

Brother broke his Tibia, Fibula and dislocated his ankle three weeks ago playing football. He's had all the metalwork inserted

He is going on holiday to India in November and is due to have the bolt taken out at the end of the month in what is apparently a minor 15 minute operation

He is getting mixed messages as to whether it is an issue that he will have been on a long haul flight around a week before he is under anesthetic. I'd imagine it would be a big no no for any major operation but what about such a short surgery?

He needs to talk to the surgeon. I suspect he would be at greater risk of DVT's so soon after an operation.

Long haul flight a week before an operation is not a concern. Obviously he should mention it and not trust random internet advice.
