I have AS and broke several vertabra a couple of years ago and since then, I've fallen apart physically. But, right now I'm in a lot of pain (more than usual) and feel absolutely knackered. The slightest amount of activity absolutely wears me out.

I'm on Fentanyl patches and a variety of other drugs, but this hasn't changed in the last year.

I think it can, yes - I find enduring pain from a knee injury is so wearing, your body works harder to compensate, your metabolism feels like it is working overtime and everything becomes a real effort / inertia needs overccming. I've been able to do a lot less mentally due to the pain I've been in physically this last year. I imagine you're getting it worse than me with it being vertebrae, as well. Good luck

You need to talk to your pain manager

100% yes - when prolonged it has the ability to sap the essence from your soul.

Thanks for the replies, I felt pretty foolish really as it's so obvious when you are not worn out from lack of sleep! Last couple of nights have been terrible, no sleep as it's just so painful... everywhere hurts! Had the physio round today and she's helped a bit (plus she's fing gorgeous!)and brought me a new handed and moulded stick so I can't use it in my left hand anymore.

Already on a very high dose of fentanyl so not really sure where to go from here pain management wise.

Perhaps try something a little woo, because woo can actually help more than non-woo.

I had a compression fracture of 3 vertebrae. When I spoke to my chiropractor re fatigue he said it was quite normal when in pain. Pain makes you tired.
