Hi all,

So i work in an office from half 7 till half 4 everyday. My current routine is porridge and 1 tea in the morning with a 1 litre bottle of water which i tend to get through by 12:00.

At 12 i have a sandwich with whole meal bread, butter and meat. The problem i'm having is i'm struggling when it comes to around 3pm not to eat crap which isn't easy to do when it's very easy to get.

Anyone got any good snacks apart from nuts, trail mix, or veg pot i can have to help me feel full until my tea at 7pm?

Reading your post it looks like you don't eat anything mid-morning? That for me is probably the most important time of day. I've started having tubs of tuna mixed with a tiny dollop of mayo, other days I could have sardines (if you can bear the smell) along with chopped pepper/carrot/celery/cucumber (with healthy dip if desired) and maybe even 2 or 3 spoonfuls of peanut butter. I found having higher carbs mid-day nearly always resulted in a 'crash' mid to late afternoon. Lower your carbs and you will almost certainly feel a lot better.

What sort of meat are you having (in your sandwich)?

OP, what about a tub of Greek yoghurt or a guacamole?

What's wrong with nuts?

I have a big bag of unsalted cashews in my desk drawer and have a handful of these mid morning.

Another good snack is a pot of fat free yogurt (with honey in if you find it a bit bland like me). A 170g pot is filling and has 17.5g of protein.

The Mrs works later then me so i have to do the work of the OH.

Nuts are good but i know that they're quite high in natural fat so if i am eating nuts its trying not to eat too many. I might have to try yogurt though as that might work.

I don't really do much veg either i'm such a fussy person but should really man up.

I bring 25g of cashew, 25g of almonds, a yoghurt & an apple to work, to either have as snacks or as lunch if the lunch that's on isn't to my liking.

I'm assuming you aren't low carb, so why not a banana? I am low carb/no sugar so I would prefer an avocado but arranging for a ripe one each day isn't easy, you've only got to look at them funny and they rot!
