Gents, any advice, I fractured the radial head in my elbow back in november (not badly, it really just looked like somebody had left a hair on the x ray). Most of the pain was in my forarm and shoulder from landing awkwardly.
I have slowly been getting a range of movement back, but struggling with the last 10 deg or so, the physio said to take some pain killers if necessary and work on stretching it, I have been sitting in front of the TV with a light dumbell to stretch the arm straight, after a while in my shoulder starts to get a bit sore.
Any advise on what else I can do to hurry things up a bit?
Thanks
G

I had exactly the same injury caused by tripping over on the patio in August last year (crap way to obtain this of injury especially as I'd never done anything like that before) I now have full movement back and had it back since December. I'm now back at the gym with no real problems at all. I still do the movement excerises at least twice a day, my advice be just push it a little bit further everytime

I smashed my elbow badly years ago. Bad enough to involve lots of wire to hold it together while it healed which is still in there. The surgeon thought at best I'd get 80% of the range of movement back. The physio involved having someone else move the arm through the full range of movement for 15 minutes or so three times a day, each time pushing it further. I was told to grit my teeth as it would hurt if I wanted to get maximum range back. Doing this was agony, genuine serious pain, slightly helped by massaging the elbow with oil before starting. It made my eyes water. The result was 100% range back, much to the delight of the surgeon. So check with your physiotherapist on how far you can safely push it as your situation may not be the same as mine and then go for it. You have to stick to it, it's not a quick thing to achieve and it may hurt. But it's worth it.
