Need to preface this that I am the worlds most skeptical person. My relative in the US has started selling 'wraps' which as far as I can see are basically cling film wrapped round the midriff. However, her before and after photos are pretty staggering regarding what appears to be fat-loss, and having just seen her a month ago vs now its certainly not a photoshop. Now another male relative has shown a before and after 2 weeks photo and they also are showing decent loss.
I don't quite understand how wrapping yourself in clingfilm can have these kind of results? usually I'd call bull straightaway, but there's mark one eyeball proof with people I personally know. Its not like its an insulating thing, I can only think it has something to do with compression? Or maybe the compression makes you feel fuller? (she's a bit sketchy on how it works - just saying that "it works")

Anyone offer a scientific explanation?

You put the cling film over your food instead of the food in your pie hole and over months you weigh less.

Seriously though, there is no science.

Eat less weigh less

Totally agree - but the evidence of change is in front of me, and the results seem illogical (if not rather dramatic - and it's not a case of her sucking in/breathing out). I can only think its acting like a corset reducing the volume of food you can consume? I'm sure there was a similar fad in the UK 10-15 years ago for these types of thing.

Edited to add - of the hundreds of promotional articles - this says it works by sweating out water basically... http://www.livestrong.com/article/135850-the-dange...

It may cause temporary reductions in weight/fat due to dehydration, but it will return quickly.

If there is any long-term reduction it wasn't due to the wraps.
