Week 5, feel rough.
Can't stay sleep. Fall asleep all the while. Go to bed, an hour later wide awake. Daytime fall asleep at work, get home fall asleep. Go to bed fall asleep. Driving me insane. SO bloody tired.
Trying to stay up late so i might sleep through.

Cough, my god. 10 minutes of coughing till my lungs hurt every morning and at various points in the day.

Dehydration, get through a pint of water over night. Wake every hour see above.

Asthmatic wheezing, like an early steam train.

Doctors booked for monday, now i expect withdrawl symptoms. On this basis i need a script for 40 a day!

Using eCigs down to 1.2mg nicotine and using rarely now, had my first ever night out on the beer properly and stayed strong.

Is this how non smokers live?

No it's not how we live, it gets better and quite quickly.

The sleep thing settles down, I must have slept 13 hours a day for the first 6 weeks after stopping.

Opposite, generally hit the sack 10 ish. Then wake every hour or so till 4 or 5 then give up and get up.
Fall asleep much quicker, just can't stay asleep.

Had a few drinks tonight so hoping it will knock me out,

Jesus, how many were you on?

I smoked from 12 to 27 years old, 20 a day. And then decided to stop. Didn't have any 'withdrawal' symptoms that I noticed other than a propensity to catch a cough every 4 months or so for the first two years.

Of course I started again after 5 years smile, but vaping has now kept me off them for the last 3 years.

Craving didn't last long. The habit is more difficult, keep forgetting I don't smoke.
Still crave occasionally but rarely.

Just want a good sleep.m

I read something the other day on Reddit that suggested if you put Vicks on your feet you wont cough while you sleep.

How accurate this is I have zero idea. But your post reminded me of it, so here you go. If you try it, lemme know if it works.

Also, five weeks of no smoking is no easy task! Welldone! Seriously. You should be over the worst of it. From here it will only get easier. Stay strong!

Vicks on feet sounds bizarre. But still all the acupuncture stuff around feet so maybe...

Well done you too, getting easier. Spent far to much time at the pub today. Excuse of it was pissing down meant instead of my usual 2 hours preprandial ale it ended up with 5 hours quaffing. Slightly squiffy but still no real smokes. At times it sure smelt good till the originator returned to the bar. Sopping wet, fag infested clothing is not appealing.

Doctor has prescribed zopiclome. For one week, fingers crossed big sleep tonight.
Despite coughing and wheezing my lungs are actually performing well and the asthma test device thing, I can bounce of the end stop! Not bad after 30'plus years.

So just a bit of patience and all should improve.
