Morning chaps,

I'll keep this fairly brief: I'm 24, and have been back at the gym for the last 2 months. I'm in good shape but last week I had a slight pain in both elbows whilst training (a mixture of free weights, body weight dips, seated cable rows etc.). At first my elbows just felt a little weak, with a bit of pain in the tendons. I did some research and worked out that it was probably a mild case of tennis elbow. It doesn't hurt more when I grip anything or press it.

I realise that I've probably started lifting too heavy too soon, so I decided to have a week off upper body training and have been taking ibuprofen and icing both elbows in order to reduce any inflammation. However, over the last couple of days the pain has developed into what I can only describe as the same sensation as cramp in both forearms, on the upper side of my arm. It seems to get worse at night. The pain isn't agonising, more uncomfortable.

I suppose what I'm asking is, is this related to the earlier pain in my elbow joint or is something unrelated? Has anyone else experienced similar? I'm probably going to have another week off any heavy lifting and start back on lighter weights next week.

I know that there is a wealth of material online about tennis elbow but I'm reading conflicting articles everywhere. I'm more frustrated than anything, I've never been one to skip a leg workout but it's annoying not being able to train my upper body (with the exception of abs).

Any help is much appreciated.
