Do the opticians and opthalmologists expect a rush of customers after the eclipse or are most people sensible? Does anyone know of any examples of people getting eye damage as a result of the eclipse?

didn't really catch the figures but they said on the telly this morning that in 99 the number were in the 100's for eye damage

Certainly had quite a few people in worrying about it after the last one (although at the time I was working at a well known "holiday" resort on the North Wales coast where the eclipse was hidden behind the clouds!) , have seen a few solar burns as an optician but none due to the eclipse.
Expecting to see some worried people in the next few weeks as we supposedly had a good view here in Shropshire but as I was stuck inside behind the blackout blinds I can't confirm that!
