Just starting going to the gym again after a lazy winter. Me and a couple of friends have been setting ourselves targets at the moment. Weigh 62kg and 5ft 11 currently, and benching 92.5kg. By the end of summer I wanna be about 70kg body weight and benching 100kg for at least six reps. However, can't workout to the radio music they have playing at the gym and its really frustrating. Really looking for some music that can really keep me going at the gym, so really curious as to what you listen to.

I use 8tracks and listen to the hip-hop/workout playlists. You can search for 'workout' and then combine with any genre of music you like and it will throw up appropriate playlists for you.

PS 100kg for 6 at 70kg BW will be impressive if you can do it!

Heavy metal seems to work quite well for some reason.

What sort of metal were you thinking of like any particular artists?

I'm just shocked that a Uni student can't decide in the music to play in a gym!

Right.. again haha what does holidays have to do with the gym? Also, I'm just trying to broaden my knowledge of music that goes well with the gym as its not just for me its for me and my friends, chucking together a youtube channel for us all to use and their mates.

Anything with lots of "shouting", electric guitars and drums. biggrin I have quite a broad taste in metal: Megadeth, GNR, Lacuna Coil, Slipknot, SOAD, FNM, Marilyn Manson...

I'll try and make a playlist of metal songs for gym, would you be interested at looking at it once i've finished?

No... I'd be interested in stealing it once you've finished. biggrin

I think the trick is to pick tunes that get you going. What I like may make you cringe.

Here's some other stuff:
