Teeth whitening

My dentist charges 300 quid for this ,having a look on google you can go to teeth whitening for a hundred quid ( through groupon etc) at firms that just specialises in teeth whitening . Has anyone gone down the route of tooth whitening (not through their dentist) ? My teeth have some yellow on them (dont smoke and eat healthy)

That is a dental practice, so you should be fine.

I had it done about 8 months ago, since then I've cut down on tea/coffee etc and generally taken better care of my teeth. My teeth aren't yellow, far from it, but the whitening effect does wear off quicker than I would've expected it to.

I'd see it as an annual thing, but on the other hand, the pain was that bad (for 24hrs) I think I'll just leave my teeth how they are!

Due to the weakness of the bleach allowed to be used in this country, in-surgery whitening isn't very effective. A short term result at best. Also dehydration of the teeth as they are isolated from the saliva causes a false whitening effect which quickly disappears a few hrs later. I would pay the extra few hundred quid and have a home bleaching system if you want a decent result. The Enlighten system is fantastic, with very consistent results.

We can still use 25% H2o2 out here, but still feel disappointed with the results. Home whitening is the best way, just make sure it's a dental practice and not some unregulated place
