Any orthodontists on here?

I don’t want to post too much as my orthodontist could be a PH’er, but essentially I’ve had power chains for 6 weeks now to close two gaps but not a lot is happening.
She has since fitted a 6 tooth power chain unevenly so that it’s only working on one of the gaps, this has worked but now the other gap which was mostly closed has opened significantly.
She says they may not even close up and then the alternative solution is to fit veneers, this pissed me off to be honest.
My teeth look worse than they did before treatment, I’ve spent a lot of money and now it appears there are risks which I was never told about and it may even cost me even more.
I appreciate I have been vague about the details but any feedback will be appreciated.
