Our family switching to electric toothbrushes
Discussion
After recommendations from our dentist we have decided to make the switch. The difference in mouth cleanliness is huge and with our little boy having a lovely set of first teeth we think it's a good idea to do it together.
Question is, with lots of different brands with so many features, which one to go for?
Any recommendations much appreciated.

I've never been a fan in all honesty and have always felt that my teeth are cleaner with a manual brush.
I've bought my mum a couple of Sonicare brushes over the years which she still uses. My wife used hers for a while but is now back to using a manual brush.
I'm not sure if Sonicare is still regarded as one of the best on the market these days.

Get one of the Braun Oral B toothbrushes. I have been recommending them for years. Tried different sonic toothbrushes but is easy to press to hard and not get the sonic effect. Can't really go wrong with an oral B though.
Still need to clean between the teeth with floss or interdental brushes though. Now I sound like my hygienist.

They're all a complete waste of money. They last about 6 months until the battery no longer holds charge and then they are fit for the bin. Look at the thousands of reviews on Amazon and you'll see for yourself. You'll achieve the exact same result by learning to clean properly with a small headed normal brush and once you've mastered the technique there's no need for that flossing BS either which is just a fad so that dental hygienists can justify their jobs.Question is, with lots of different brands with so many features, which one to go for?

I've been recommending sonicare for about the last year, they are a little more technique sensitive but if you're scrubbing with an oral b it can still cause recession/abrasion.
I love my Sonicare

I don't use an electric brush so can't comment on them, but brushing properly with the 'right' brush is more than adequate. Use a decent toothpaste, sensodyne pronamel for me.schmunk said:

From personal experience, this is not true. All that jazz said:

Now on number 2 or 3 each have lasted 5 years plus, all Oral B. Not sure what people must be doing to destroy theirs so quickly.
