Thinking slightly ahead to when the dark nights set in.

I have a mountain bike which I use in all weathers etc. However it would be nice to be able to peddle at home on a week night rather than hump around the streets.

So are they any good ? I'm not looking at spending a lot on one.

How much noise do they make ? I don't want to wake the kids up.

Any general advice welcome

Try pedal powered for better advice

Im no expert but I think the cheap ones make a racket

There is always the temptation to sit in front of a James Bond movie whilst training, to be honest if you can easily take in a flick then I suggest youre not really accomplishing much

I use a spinning bike which I got cheap for the nastier bits of the winter
Its no substitute for miles in the saddle however isnt too bad actually - as long as you really go for it

Intervals are where its at
There are plenty of programs and vids online
I personally like the Sufferfest
