As per the title, I am trying to do an hour, every other day, seeing some improvements, just wondering how often those who are really into it train for ?

I do roughly 2 hours weights, 6 days a week- sometimes 7 days, but the 7th day will be a shorter home session.

Since I've started training with the GF my weights sessions have dropped in time a lot - a combbo of her not wanting to be in more than 1hr and me spotting her for some stuff. I'd say my weights are now done over 40m max 3 times a week......and I've seen a real improvement in energy, results, strength.

also, run, spin, MTB, etc

I suppose it depends what you call training. In terms of regular exercise, in a typical working week I do a total of 1½ hours of weights, 1-5 hours of cycling depending on the weather and the season, 5 hours of walking (an hour a day) and 2-4 hours of SUP/Windsurfing depending on the weather and the season. We also have three or four holidays a year which are usually around 6-8 hours a day of the above.

I have back, leg and knee problems and the above has been tweaked to minimise the pain and so far works very well indeed. For me it's a balance between too much exercise, which sets my leg and knees off, and too little, which makes my back pain worse. I find the weights of great help in minimising injuries, having tried CV sports with and without.

upping CV weekly at mo in prep for Spartan event but trying to retain as much muscle size and strength at same time, will knock it back a tad after that b4 pushing again

I do weights 4-5 sessions a week for about 1hr each. Time isn't a very useful measure of strength workouts though as intensity and rest periods do to seem to vary rather a lot (or to put it another way many people do more talking than lifting). Each workout might be 20-40 sets of 5-12 reps (to failure), less for heavy deadlifts and squats.

I don't do any specific cardio but pace my weights sessions reasonably intensively to maintain a fairly high heart rate.

Between 6-8 hours per week. I train four times per week with one and a half to two hour sessions.

Doesn't seem like a lot, but it seems to work well enough...

Just about 6 hours a week on the bike, sometimes more, and roughly 4 hours in the gym.
