Caffeine Shampoo for Hairloss

At work they've recently replaced the normal lights with stupidly bright LED lights in the lift and I've noticed with dismay when I look in the mirror now I'm in my 30's that my hair is departing and not being replaced 
I've seen lots of adverts for german caffeine shampoo on tv recently, does this actually work or is it just a marketing gimmick?
Feel loath to pay 10x the price of normal shampoo but if it works then it's probably worth the money, don't really want to start having to take pills as that's even more expensive.

When Stephen segal was just receding, he had the respect of the world. He could act, fight, be a priest, a cook, anything. Hell, he didn't even need tools to change the length of wood.
Now, after his hair transplant he's a mockery. Like his hair his acting is completely unbelievable, and all the normal haired kids are quite sure that they could do him in a fight, even with the aki-do. Do you want to be like Stephen segal? Course not. Just crop it short, like Jason Statham. Then buy an S8.

The 3 accepted things that can help with hairloss are minoxidil, Finasteride/propecia and nizoral shampoo(ketoconazole), They are known as the big 3.
I can only give experience of minoxidil and nizoral, It has saved me for about 5 years now. Hairline is still going and will eventually go but has kept me enough hair to see me halfway through my 20's.
Im too scared of the side effects of propecia so will probably never try it. I like being able to get a stiffy more than a full head of hair so not willing to risk it.

Apart from the obvious point of being aimed at men because it's a male baldness thing, there is another element picking a motoring presenter and the "It's German, so it must be good"

Why would anyone want shampoo for hair loss? Hair retention I could understand. 
Get a wahl balding, assuming you have a 'good' shaped head.

k me his hair has gone mental. He's young and reckons his stiffie is just fine.I've just turned fifty and my hair has almost reached the point where it's time to take the f
king lot off and scare small children. I'll be going for the beard and bald head look when the time comes

I,ve always found that it seems to bother other people more than me! You know, when you get people jesting etc or semi seriously saying have you ever thought about doing anything about it?!
Looking back, I quite often shaved my head even when I had hair ( just felt more comfortable especially with all the sweating in the gym, out on the bike etc)!
Its also surprising the number of people who don't know what causes it (even other bald blokes)- no, not necessarily an excess of testosterone but the hair follicles in the scalp have a sensitivity to it for some genetic reason.
