Turns out I have appendicitis, lying here waiting to get it removed. Good start to the week.

I was just going to ignore it, as you do, but the pain was starting to get a bit unbearable biggrin

Good luck. I had mine out just under 6 years ago after also doing the "I'll just ignore the excrutiating pain" bit.
Keyhole surgery and I don't even have a visible scar now.

They didn't warn me I'd be getting a catheter though. grumpy

You enjoying the morphine?

I had my appendix out in April.

Look out for the sore right shoulder. No idea why, the abdomen was pretty OK the day after the operation, but my right shoulder was agony. Took a good few days for it to pass, alright when you are sitting down but move wrong and BAM! The first night after the operation I was at home, trying to lie down to go to sleep was interesting to say the least. Ended up in the den on the sofa with my back propped up on cushions.

I'd be interested to see if you have the same? Is yours going to be keyhole?

I think (and I'm not a doctor!) that shoulder pain post keyhole can be due to the gas they use to inflate your abdomen accumulating in your shoulder area after surgery. I had the same after a keyhoe op. Was the worst bit!

No keyhole apparently, just a small incision. Should be any time now.

Only drugs I've had so far are Tramadol.

This patientline TV is a bit extortionate, £10 for a day and the quality is st. So I'm using the free wifi for Youtube

All the best but the title of this thread sounds like an Avant Garde Human League tribute act.

It's from Fight Club I think, or a variation of a Fight Club quote.

Just got out of theatre about half an hour ago

My little girl had hers out last week. She only 6 yrs old poor little thing. It was a pretty bad one by all accounts. Is at home now still recovering from it. Getting very bored apparently.

Had mine out when I was 9, traumatic experience! My appendix actually ruptured, so I was out of action for quite a few weeks

If you didn't have keyhole surgery then I don't think you will get the shoulder pain. How are you feeling otherwise?

Fine, in for tonight. Had a ward all to myself until some racist old scumbag got brought in here. Won't shut up, just wasted two hours of my life

It comes from a series of Readers' Digest articles of the 1970's describing the functions of various human organs.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yep, they had a pile of them in the Fight Club house they set up.

Not slept a wink tonight because of this old .

"what religion are you? Are you a Shalom?" he says

"i'm an atheist"

"i've got nothing againt jews"

"i'm not Jewish"

"It's nothing to be ashamed of"

"Look, I'm not Jewish, I still have my foreskin, I'll show you if you fking want?"

"what are you then?"

"I'm not religious, I'm just English, that's it"

"You're English?"

"Yes?"

"Really?"

Then I've had to listen to his bullst tirades against anyone and everyone? Foreign doctors, immigrants, the Tories, the NHS, pharmacists, he hates them all. Also, apparently he's worked in construction for the last 40 years all over the world, Cuba, Venezuela, New York. That's when he wasn't a gangster debt collector with a firm out of Manchester. And fighting in the Malaysia War. And joining the Israeli army. Oh and he was a millionaire and had 40 properties.

And his daughter is a surgeon in this hospital. And her daughter is also a nurse here.

The worst part is before he started all that he asked where I lived and I gave him the area only for him to mention a nearby business and property his best mate owned. The guy in question is the father of a girl I know who my mate goes out with. He knew a lot about these people but having heard everything else since then I'm convinced he has dementia and these are other peoples lives he's telling me about. Some amateur sleuthing on Facebook revealed his son is a friend of a lad I know who is also friends with the family the old duffer mentioned.

I'm fuming my entire night has been wasted with this horsest.
