Vasectomy reversal

Possible but not high. When I had the snip, the quack advised that after 5 years the prognosis of a reversal is not great. Something to do with the body producing antisperm.
A friend had his reversed after 10 years and has been trying (not hammer any tongs in fairness) afir 2 years and there's still no action.

As above, the chances of success reduce inverse with the elapsed time. There *may* be an age factor in that (21 is very unusual for anyone to agree to perform a vasectomy unless there are medical reasons?).
Aside from that, the process is carried out under GA, and whilst that part is clearly quite tolerable, the subsequent fallout/recovery can be quite unpleasant and lengthy. It's MUCH more invasive than the original procedure and there's no question of "put your feet up and go back to work after a couple of days". I know of someone who was self-employed when theirs was reversed and despite earning nothing, they ended up off work for over 4 weeks. And it hasn't been successful, not after something like 8 years.
There are other options for recovery of sperm from the epididemis (SP?) which can be successful - I would suggest that you look into that and consider going down that route and have them frozen for use as & when required via IVF - seriously. They can be checked for viability once recovered and before being frozen, so you wouldn't have to commit to IVF without knowing that element was checked first.
Good luck with it, the whole (in)fertility thing can be very very lengthy, stressful and draining (no pun intended).

25 year gap
Specialist told me the gap was too long.
His previous reversal was 17 years, which worked.
He said it was my money, and he would do the best he could, few grand.
Any way, all works.
