Ive had some quite large blood spots on my chest, side and back for some time, but recently have notices patches of smaller, brighter red blood spots appearing all over my chest, back, upper arms, and even a few on my face. There are a few hundred of these small pin head sized red spots now, and it's at the point where I need to get something done for them if possible.

Firstly, does anyone know why these occur? I am obviously prone to them, but up until recently they were isolated to probably twenty odd. The amount I seem to be getting recently (especially the face) is quite worrying.

Secondly, has anyone had these successfully removed or treated?

I am hoping something can be done as it's to the point where Im getting very self conscious of them, and from being someone who did a lot of swimming am now not even prepared to take my shirt off. The ones on my face are majorly worrying, as if that continues who knows what I will end up looking like!!

No doubt a doc would simply say they are cosmetic and wouldnt be part of a necessary medical procedure, so am hoping that someone on here has/had similar and can give me some advise before I turn into the giant red human blood spot.

I an pretty sure I have these and unfortunately since my second pregnancy I have gain quite a few more.

I remember reading up about them a few years back when I first noticed them and was reassured that they were not a health risk but disappointed that very little seemed available to treat them.

I am becoming more self conscious because of them as they are apparent even when wearing a normal V neck top etc. It is also disheartening to know I will probably get quite a few more over the next few yrs!

I see this article mentions some laser treatment, I may look into that, useful link.

OP not very helpful to you but just thougt I'd share that I know what it feels to have them!

Just make sure they are not these (petechiae) if you really do have hundreds:

These are NOT innocent.

Another possible cause is these (spider naevi)
