Uncontrolled muscle spasms
Discussion
This started suddenly on Saturday 19th December. I am getting muscle twitches / spasms from roughly the bottom of my rib cage on the right hand side - feels like it is occurring just at the bottom of the rib cage rather than the organs below, and it feels like it's the point exactly where my side and my front meet (I.e it's not exactly on my side but it's not from the front).
It happens constantly - I.e at least every 5 minutes but in reality probably every 2 or 3 minutes.
It causes no other problems - absolutely no pain, and I have no other symptoms.
I saw the doctor today who bizarrely told me to take ibuprofen or nurofen for the pain - then remembered there was no pain and added 'if it starts hurting'. She prodded my abdomen asking if anywhere hurt - nowhere did. She mentioned gall bladder or liver but said I should have pain from either of those. She didn't try to feel the spasm occur - not sure why. They vary in intensity from barely noticeable to severe enough that I can feel it across my entire stomach - and it can even be seen through my t shirt if it's that strong.
I started going to the gym in September but only cardio (cross trainer and treadmill) and cut down what I was eating so I've lost just over 2 stone since then and am a healthy size. By coincidence, although I was going to the gym 3 times a week this happened during a short break - I hadn't been since the previous Tuesday and it happened on a Saturday.
I will get a blood test on Friday next week and they will arrange for a scan of my liver and gall bladder.
But has anybody else experienced something like this?

Phoned for the blood test results today, was told they are normal apart from "high level of plasma C" which requires a "routine call back" from the doctor. The doctor who arranged the blood test doesn't start until lunchtime today, so will call me back this afternoon.
A quick google finds CRP, which I guess is what they meant? Suggesting inflamation or infection of something.
For what it's worth, the spasms have continued unchanged (every 2-3 mins) which means it's almost 4 weeks now - and due to a cold, I haven't been to the gym for the last 10 days so it doesn't really seem likely it's a muscle strain. Still, they didn't insist I visit the doctor for the result so I guess I've got a few months left.
Not had an appointment for the abdominal scan yet, should have mentioned I have private insurance I think!
ETA - looks like the most likely cause of high levels will be the cold that's stopped me going to the gym!
