Having decided that it was time to lose some weight for my new years resolution, I thought it was about time I went on a proper diet.

I saw an article in the Times Magazine for the "Sirtfood" diet a few days ago and though it was worth a try. I'm generally very sceptical about all things diet related but spent £5 on the kindle book about it and decided I would go for it!

The premise is you have 3 days of 3 juices and one "sirt" meal only then 4 days of 2 juices and 2 "sirt" meals. After this you then go onto a further 2 weeks 1 juice and 3 "sirt meals".

I apologise for a daily mail link, but you have to pay to read the times one... It has a list of the sorts of food you can eat.

I started yesterday at 141.7kg and 193cm. BMI=38 paperbag

Considering how little you eat for the first 2 days (less than 1000kcals) I haven't felt hungry at all and actually struggled to finish my dinner this evening. I also seem to have just as much energy as I did before which is great. Making juices is a proper faff and you need ingredients that my local supermarkets don't stock but the main meals are very nice.

Is anyone else doing or has anyone else tried this one? I will update my results on here over the coming weeks. If nothing else it's bound to work because of the calorie deficit and it certainly seems a lot healthier than my current diet. The lack of hunger might mean this one actually sticks though!

Wondered when this'd appear on here. It's the new fad diet.

Just eat less if you want to lose weight.

As I read elsewhere, diets are temporary like their results.

I fully agree with the above- It's really just a motivator for me to change my lifestyle and eating habits.

Well, I'm not going to win this bingo game if you don't use the word "kickstart".

Forget any diets. Just eat a little less than you did last year and it's easy to change your lifestyle for good.
