On Friday night my wife missed a step whilst walking down the stairs carrying the vacuum cleaner and fell 3 or 4 steps down to the half landing. Her foot and ankle were causing her discomfort so we attended A&E on Saturday where she was x rayed and we were told no bones were broken.
At the moment she is suffering from a pain at the back of her head, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, is weepy/crying for no reason she can pinpoint and feels cold (even when it isn't cold) she has been feeling out of sorts since it happened. She cannot recall banging her head but she may have. Immediately after the fall she felt sleepy but remained awake for another couple of hours before going to bed.
At the moment she is off work, and has been unable to get an appointment with the GP yesterday or today, but is going to try again tomorrow. At the time we attended hospital it was very busy, we were there approximately 5 hours. The doctor checked her motor skills and eyes and no problem was found.
It is unlike her to be ill, she soldiers on regardless usually and I am concerned that there is something wrong, could it be concussion or whiplash?
Any advice from anyone medical or anyone who has experience of this would be much appreciated.
(I did ask if she was pregnant which she didn't find funny so we can rule that one out!)

I'm not a Dr and neither are most on here. That sounds pretty serious and I personally would be going to Urgent Care Walk in or A&E.

Her symptoms are most consistent with concussion, it can last for quite some time, and some people can then suffer from post-concussion syndrome, which is mostly the same symptoms, but lasting for even longer. As long as there are no neurological abnormalities on questioning / examination, all you need to do is rest and wait for symptoms to improve. I would advise a doctor appt however to confirm.

On Wednesday she got an appointment with the GP who has given her a sick note and told her to rest, so hopefully she will be better soon.
Looking at the symptoms of post concussion syndrome on the NHS website pretty much describe how she is feeling.
