Why do my joints still ache?
Discussion
I started hitting the gym in September, and gradually built up how long I was there. Mostly I do cardio stuff - cross trainer first, then treadmill which is a mix of running and walking.
About a month or two back, I noticed that when I'm walking (in normal life, not when at the gym) I've got a mild ache both sides of my groin. It doesn't generally stop me exercising - after a mild warm up, everything is fine.
It started when I changed my behaviour on the treadmill to include longer periods of walking up max incline. Thinking that was the cause, I went back to the walking / running on flat - but this didn't make any difference.
Last week I concluded it's probably my own fault because I don't stretch before exercising (although I do walk gently etc. at first to warm up) and that I needed to do that.
However - the last time I went to the gym was Monday of last week. I then got a cold mid-week which I still haven't completely kicked - but much to my surprise, my joints still ache just as much when walking around. No worse, and definitely no better. It's mildly painful - not in any way severe - but if it was because of what I was doing (or not doing) at the gym, wouldn't it have sorted itself out in 10 days?

You should do your big stretch after exercise. Is it your joints that ache or leg muscle in your groin? Either way if the pain isn't sharp there's nothing to worry about.Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
