What could be wrong with my hand?
Discussion
Not my wking hand either before the obvious puns
My left hand, has for the last few weeks, been in mild but fairly consistent amounts of pain. It's not a constant pain, only when I am trying to grip or spread my fingers out as far as they will go. The pain is more of an ache really, and starts at the middle of the thumb, and across my knuckles and around that area. I've tried to indicate this in the picture below:-
I haven't so far as I know injured it. I've worked in computers all my life, and am 37 so maybe I am starting to see wear and tear, but it doesn't really hurt me to type. It has certainly affected my grip strength though. I've looked up the symptoms of arthritis but I would expect swelling and there isn't any. My symptoms don't really seem to match RSI either, and I only get it in my left hand.
Any ideas what it could be, and whether its worth getting it checked out?
