sore throat and hoarseness after operation

Hi all as above ,anyone had this last longer than the usual few hours im 2 days in after day surgery and before i ring them for advice .......

Had an op under general about 3 years ago and I was sore for about a week. I think it depends on how aggressively they insert the tubes down your throat when you are under.

After five ops under GA I only had the raw throat/hoarseness after the third surgery, which was a six - hour job. Intubation is a necessity to keep you breathing and I suppose the length of time you're tubed up could make a difference. Your pipework isn't all that delicate and I understand the risk of rupturing the clack is fairly low. Pardon my being technical. I suggest giving it time and considering over-the-counter lozenges if need be.
