Just been looking at rowing machines online, just wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations for a good compact, budget machine?

I have a bike on turbo trainer for a bit of extra exercise but a rowing machine looks like it would be good for even more of an all round workout. Main focus is losing a bit of belly flab, strengthening core and arms. Budget £2-250 tops really as I've never used one so don't want to go too expensive, but always try and buy reasonable kit.

I bit the bullet and bought a concept 2 a few years ago. Over a grand, but they keep their value and its the one that most gyms have. You can also rent and buy later if you want. I used the rationale I would give up my gym membership to pay for it, which is what I did. Have no experience of cheaper models, only ever rowed on a concept 2

I think you can do some sort of rent-to-buy scheme with the Concept 2. They certainly last pretty well.

Eat less and do some press-ups and bodyweight core exercises.

Put the £300 towards your summer holiday smile

Yeah, point taken. I find it hard to commit to just "free" exercises, weird man maths logic but spending on a bit of kit somehow seems to inspire using it to justify the cost!? But not sure I have the space anyway so perhaps you're spot on.
