Good morning All

Had a break from all forms of exercise after getting married and having kids

Now 38, 5'8 and currently weigh 12,7

Managed to loose a stone with healthy eating and walking, children are now starting to sleep through so joining pure gym (24 hour) so I can go before work 2 to 3 times a week

Have Thai boxed from 14 up until 35 along with free weights, not a lover of machines or the tread mill

Looking to get back to being flexible, think I would throw my hip if I tried to kick above waist height, and get strong again.

I used the 5x5 strongman before getting married which really improved my strength

As it stands I am in the worst shape I have ever been in

Looking for a bit of advice as thing always move on and I have been out of the game a while

Having a look around the gym on monday, hopefully they have somewhere to skip!

Any advice would be appreciated as I want to make sure I don't injure myself

Kind regards

Angelo

You have enough experience to know how to go about it.

Don't rush in and take it easy to start with.

Doing the 5x5 will have taught you that even starting off with an empty bar soon turns into something challenging.

I was 'only' away for about 8 months but started very carefully when I got back into it (I'm 52).

I'd forgotten what DOMS felt like biggrin
