Any anaesthetists in the house?

Would anyone be able to give me a little advice please?
I had an epidural topped up to spinal block 10 weeks ago. Since then I've had terrible aching pain at the site and the cold running feeling like when it's administered across my back and down my legs along with tingling. I've also noticed when I walk (to the shops sort of walking- repetitive for a little while) my feet keep missing steps and dragging. I struggle to place them flat and become a bit stompy.
My GP was dismissive and didn't offer any advice. Is it normal or should I be concerned?
Thanks

i think the GP was wrong to be dismissive - especially without discussing it with the ?pain management clinic / team I had an epidural topped up to spinal block 10 weeks ago. In which case either contact the consultant you were under via their secretary, or speak to someone senior (matron preferably) on the ward you stayed on post delivery and ask them for advice - if they can't help you directly, they should at least know who you need to speak to

I'd be contacting at least one of: midwifery team, surgeon via secretary, ward you were cared for on postop. TBH I'd very probably go straight to contacting all 3. Wards often have a junior doc or two lurking actually on the ward, which can sometimes result in very quick responses of the "pop up this afternoon and we'll have a quick look" variety, if you're lucky and they're not too busy.
Agree, uncool of GP to be quite that relaxed about it, and anything spinal or neurological sounding probably wants checking up on a lot sooner than 4 weeks time.
Oh and congratulations!

Thanks for the advice. I'll ring in the morning (middle of the night might be better as they'll all be there anyhow!)
I'm not convinced my GP is actually any good. I've got De Quervain's tenosynovitis too and wasn't told anything about it. It's so bad I'm now taking my mothers co-codamol so I can carry on normal activities. The GP also said feeling very low and depressed was normal and it'll go eventually. Impressed I am not.

The reg I saw was entirely disinterested, sent me for blood tests and said he'd request a routine MRI. The consultant the GP spoke to wasn't there and I was given no idea what it could be or reassurance.
I suppose it's a wait and see game. I'm still struggling to walk anything over about half a mile and really quite in some discomfort.
Back to the painkillers I suppose!
