Hot weather -UK people really are large
Discussion
I know it is common knowledge, but now that the sun has come out and people are wearing less, once again you can see just how overweight/carrying extra insulation the typical (most?) office worker people around here are.
I'm commenting more than passing judgement, but men of my age, late 30s, (and younger) typically have visibly big bellies, even if they have thin arms and legs, and the women are more generally large all-over. It really is the norm.
When my generation are middle-aged they are going to be huge.

At my former workplace, around 80% of the young women were visibly overweight opposed to 20% of the young men.
A lot of the fellas were quite body conscious, into fitness, gyms this kind of thing. Interestingly many more of the young women smoked and hardly any of the fellas.
Admittedly not a huge sample.

You want to see the people who frequent our local Lidl, cripes! I am sure they cover themselves in pointless tattoos to try and hide the fact that they're obese..
That is the other thing that is immediately noticeable in hot weather: the quantity of extensive permanent "body art". I am possibly in the minority having none. For sure, we're a country of fatties. But i hope the future has better things in store.
When i was at school through the 90's and 00's there were loads of fat kids in the school. Looking at my 5 year old daughters school when i pick her up, pretty much all the parents are relatively slim, and there are only two fat kids. And guess what? The mum is huge too.
They promote healthy (or healthier) eating at schools these days, unlike when i was at school and there was sugar in absolutely everything. Contrary to what most think, i wouldn't be surprised if there are actually less fat kids, it's just that medical concerns and public awareness have increased.

It's a pity that so many female plumpies insist on wearing tight and/or revealing clothing. I reckon it stems from the U.S. Same principle as their 'pass the parcels' having a gift in every layer - non-one's a loser, no-one's ugly, no-one's ever wrong.
Tell you what, dear. If you've too much of it, please don't flaunt it.
Plus, I tend to agree with what the comedian Ava Vidal says about her daughter in her set...
"Yes, you're fat but you could have the common decency to be jolly."

This, i have no idea where the whole "Body shaming" thing comes from and + size models. Yes, i agree i get no errection from stick thin models, yet, it doesn't mean those who are sickly obese pop a tent for me.The whole fatty thing should only ever be about your health. Yes it's hard to be told you need to drop some weight, it might make you feel lesser, it is however a moot point, you're either game for not dying of diabetes/hypertension/choking to death on the latest pizza misery, or you want your hugbox safespace where chubby-chasers and the deluded brainwash you further from the bottom line.
I'm hardly at the perfect weight, i will admit at 16 i was around 23-24 stone at 6ft 1, im now 14 stone at 28, the weightloss for me has been less about my appearance and more about being able to do a pullup/press-up and go for a ride on a bike that is limited to like 100kg of weight. As for those who seem obsessed with deluding those who could be on track if not already suffering from, serious serious health issues. Wake the f
k up, your health is a lot more important than your current feelings, i hated being called fat, however it was a truth i couldn't and still can't deny.Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
