daughter , ears pinned back
Discussion
My sister had it done about 24 years ago. I think the short term slight pain (and bandage turban) were worth it as she looked like a SETI array. If her ears had stayed at their original orientation, I dread to think of the emotional trouble she'd have had through bullying
My sister was a bit younger than your daughter, but the surgeon demonstrated the procedure on her favourite toy bunny (including bandage) during the pre-op talk which put her mind at ease.

If she is having problems, taunts etc, then yes, but ONLY if she is in agreement, no pressure on her.
If no problems of taunting etc, from someone born jug ears! I'd say a massive, big NO to otoplasty!
Leave it till she is old enough to decide for herself.
Most girls (obviously not all) will grow their hair long, effectively hiding their ears.
Most boys don't fall into this category. Doesn't stop you having a problem with them, of course, either way.
Remember, you are never too old to have corrective ear surgery.
One famous footballer, none other than ex Spurs, Real Madrid and Wales, Gareth Bale had his done while at Spurs.
All surgery, even simple procedures, carry risk.
Multitudes of people, rich, famous, indifferent, live with jug ears.
Multitudes have them altered. There are non-surgery options of clips, plastic and adhesive. Usually rip off cost.
If you're not squeamish, have a look. What amazes me is I wouldn't call those ears big ...at all!
But then cosmetic surgery is BIG money!

When I was a kid I used to get called really nasty names.
My way out then, to these mugs who called me 'jugs' was to give them a good thump, no docs or surgery for me, this was far more satisfying. Don't worry, I did grow up! LOL

A mate of mine had it done in his mid to late twenties. Can't recall anyone taking the possibility out of his ears (I didn't go to school with him, but have known him since we were around 14-15).
I think it made him look odd.
Well anything that changes a persons appearance compared to what you're used to would look 'odd' initially but it's something you'd grow to not even notice after a while, then looking back you'd think the original was odd looking.I think it made him look odd.
I'm sure he probably felt more confident in himself though.
