Looks like mines knackered. Waiting for consultants opinion on Monday but have been told its fractured and not healed on its own in 9 weeks.

So, given the option of pinning and casting or just casting anyone suggest the quickest repair time?

Really don't want to spend my summer holidays with my wrist in plaster and unable to drive.

The cast can be quite minimal. I was able to drive after 2-3 weeks. Cast was on for 8. That slight pain will continue for the rest of your life though...get well soon!

That sounds a bit more hopeful than googling. A few weeks won't be a big deal and if the case is pretty much hand and wrist I can suffer that for a while. Just a major PITA with work and home DIY projects frown

When I fracured mine they plastered it for 8 weeks.....didn't heal, and after 5 years of complainng and near on monthly x-rays and finaly a CT scan which revealed it still fractured I had a bone graft to sort it!

I guess it could be a bit of a problem. I only had it checked out the other week, actually fell and fractured it middle of April so its been like it for nearly a couple of months.

More concerned about not being able to drive with a cast on than anything. If I can't drive myself it means a longer working day as I would travel with my wife (who fortunately works in the same school). Plus I'd have to change my job significantly which would cause me major grief.

Also, really don't relish the idea of 5 weeks of holiday and DIY spoiled.

Mine went a couple of years before it was diagnosed, in that time it had healed with a hole in the middle so had to have a bone graft from my hip.

Think I was in plaster for about 6 weeks

My bone graft came from my hip, have a nice little hole where they removed the bone!
