Ramadan and marathons

OK so not recommended I know but managed to get a 3:31 today whilst fasting. Pleased with that as I was aiming for a Sub4! Not sure what happened was trying to slow down and every mile just got faster and faster in the end I gave up and tried to chase down a Sub 330 but even with 7:45s I was out.

Think I finished 5th which would be great as I started like 20th. Was chasing and catching the other runners who were second marathons the following day.

It's an enviable achievement.

I was in Abu Dhabi last year during Ramadan and there were many runners during the early-early morning or just after Iftar fuelled-up on a light meal of dates, nuts and water and then enjoying something heavier afterwards. It can be done.

Our climate must help a little more, but it must still be challenging.

I've cut out the gym and working from home 3 days a week, and I'm still tired...... Lost a fair few pounds though
