I seem to have picked up a hamstring strain/tear along the way somewhere. It is painful when I walk sometimes (especially if I do any cardio the night before) and anything past a moderate running pace gets pretty painful.

I've tried rowing and cycling instead of running, but all illicit soreness the day after. Turns out light weights are also a no-no.

I've been doing some body weight/TRX assisted exercise lately which seem ok.

Aside from stretching and staying off it, anyone got any tips on recovery?

Probably worth a trip to the physio? NHS you will wait for ever but a private will give you an appointment for 30 notes or so.

They will help with recovery and future problems

I'm just waiting to find time to see my brother (he's a physio), I think the NHS want to send me for a scan, which could take forever.

Try a foam roller, has worked for me in the past on a number if ailments. (supposedly breaks down any scar tissue on the muscle amongst other things)

Cheers. I'll give it a go. I've seen them at the gym.
