I had a dental inplant about 4 months ago and after a few days the feeling of pain went away but in the last 48 hours it seems to have returned and I now have the throbbing tooth!
Seems very sensitive when touching it and I can not really bite down on it, any ideas as he told me the nerve etc was gone

Sorry to hear about your problem. Was it a dental implant as in a "screw in your jaw" or more of a post in a root?
I would find the statement "the nerve is gone" a bit odd in the case of a dental implant in the jaw as we avoid these like the plague for fear of causing problems.
Anyway, as the poster above says it could well be an infection. I'm assuming there is a crown in place?

My guess is that you've got a post crown in a root filled tooth and there's an infection developed/recurred around the root tip.
Treatment could be..
1. Remove post crown and re root treat/crown
2. Apicectomy
3. Extraction
I can't see that any part of implant treatment would be a surprise to you since the dentist would have to get a serious bit of consent from you before starting.
One clue would be whether he relieved you of around 2 grand following the treatment?

Not a huge fan of the dentist so I just let them get on with it and hope for the best! The tooth was about a grand so sounds like I got a good deal.Treatment could be..

Got antibiotics today, they will check again later in the week if needed
