Looking for some advice.
I smoke Silk Cut Silver which has bugger all in nicotine etc etc. I didn't smoke one until 1100 today. Am I an addict or do you think I am just someone who is just someone who does it when bored?

I have loads to do in my life when waiting for things to happen and then tend to have a smoke, just to pass the time.

Anyone else out here like me?

Pleased to hear you opinion's.

I don't want any anti smokers opinion's against my habit, So please don't start, OK?

Just looking for opinions from like minded people.

I smoke in the mornings and evenings, no real desire to smoke in work or when I'm at home unless I'm drinking. Not sure this information will help you but just so you know you're not on your own hehe

Smoking nostalgia alert.

I was very similar when I smoked. Only about 10 or 12 a day but I loved every one.

I think a 'real' smoker is one who reaches for a fag before anything else

I rarely smoked before breakfast but the post breakfast fag was one of the best.

After 15 years or so of giving up I tried a cuban cigar. Now a once a month treat - bloody lovely

I think you're an amateur like me and should give up

I'm 12 weeks off them having struggled for years (mammoth thread somewhere). You convince yourself you smoke on your terms, but the fact you smoke, rather than don't smoke shows you're addicted - same as I was (and likely will be again).

Do you want to stop smoking? I think there are other things to do if "bored".

I'd say it's very likely you're addicted, nicotine is highly addictive.

This genuinely isn't an anti-smoker rant, so please don't take it that way, but you know full well that...

Smoking makes you smell.
Smoking costs you quite a lot of money.
Smoking is the single worst thing you can do for your health; there is absolutely no doubt that it is killing you
Smoking negatively impacts on everybody around you

...and yet you still do it, 'because you're bored'. So yeah, unless you can come up with some better reasons to smoke then I'd say you're addicted.

I'm pretty much in the exact same boat as you. Ive quit smoking entirely at home, only tend to smoke when I go out simply because its easier to talk to people standing out in the smoking shelter than it is sitting in my obnoxiously loud local pub biggrin. Occasionally get cravings but dont find it difficult to ignore them.

I think addiction is as much a part of you're personality as it is the chemicals themselves.

It isn't an addiction,it's anxiety. To stop is actually very easy if you make it easy, the trouble is most people don't.Take it 20 minutes at a time,I say 20 because that is the time I had inbetween tabs. All you have to do is get past that moment of anxiety, keep doing it and you have stopped smoking.

I used to be exactly the same but I was very definitely addicted because whilst I could go all day or longer without smoking it was only because I knew I would eventually get a smoke. It was almost like a reward.

5 years ago I switched to an e-cig, within a few months I was down to 0% nicotine and ditched them completely about 3 years ago.

Same here.

I can happily go 1,2,3 or more days without a cigarette. I've been the same since I started 30 years ago.

I now have one a day after my evening meal because I enjoy it tbh. Then vape.

I do it to draw a line under something. End of a meal, finished a call sort of thing. It'll usually be as a break for or from something.

I dont think it matters if you smoke Silk Cut really, and only you can really say if you're addicted. The best way to find out if you are/arent is to do other stuff and see if you have cravings. I'm terrible after coming off long 8+hr flights, would happily throw my passport, money and suitcase at border control and let them keep it if it means I'd be able to light up sooner
