Essential, "Best meal of the day" or just eat when you are hungry ?
I dont get hungry, despite cycling in to work until 10 or later, I would probably puke if ate my normal porridge and got on the bike so I defer and occasionally been on a call or busy and not got round to making any breakfast so have just skipped it and had lunch at noon.
there is loads of evidence that the sacrosanct status of breakfast is based on cereal companies marketing it as such, and really, we should just eat when we are hungry, its 11:01 and I am still fine, I have a decent lunch waiting of Pasta, Ham, Pesto, Cherry tomatoes and cheese hat I will bung int he micorwave in an hour or so.
So, what is your take on breakfast, mine is, have some if you want it, otherwise, dont worry about it.

I usually workout before work so I like to have some carbs before then, usually porridge, and then follow up with some protein, usually a protein shake or bar. I tend to be the other way around, more food earlier in the day, much less at night. My thinking is that you burn less calories asleep than you do working out/at work.
I eat breakfast anyway as otherwise I tend to run out of steam before lunch but now I take medication which shouldn't be on an empty stomach and the best time to take it is in the morning so I have to have some anyway
Of a weekend or if off work I'd quite happily have a decent breakfast e.g. eggs on toast and not eat much else until dinner time (evening), the wife however doesn't seem to be able to cope without some sort of lunch as well.

Reasonable size bowl of muesli (66grms), same weight of mixed nuts, and around 180grms of yoghurt with a banana. Sometimes some bread too if still hungry! Around 850 - 1200 calories. Have similar intake level for lunch.
Smaller dinner usually, depending on what I'm up to in the evening swimming and what not.
I can't leave the house without food. I'd die of hunger before I got to the car.

I am not generally hungry in the morning, so I don't eat. I save the calories for when I am hungry.
That is my approach also. All goes out of the window next week though !

Don't worry about next week. Christmas calories don't count. Fact!
I f
king love breakfast, favourite meal of the day by far,
porridge with peanut butter, omelette, bacon, fry ups, boiled eggs with toast, poached eggs with salmon, pancakes, steak and eggs, sausage in a roll, bacon in a roll, potato scones, black pudding, scrambled eggs, coffee coffee coffee....
It's the reason I get up in the morning!
The only time I tend to leave breakfast till a bit later is if I've really over ate the night before.
I was in America a few weeks ago and was, quite sadly, genuinely exited to get up in the morning as a trip to Denny's or wherever was like Christmas had come early
